When we brought Dillon over to the Sea Otter Demo area to try out the little course of bumps and ramps they had set up, we had no idea that he would master every inch of it, all day long! It never occurred to us that he would even look twice at the teeter-totter in the middle of the course. The truth is, he barely looked at it before pointing his bike in that direction, and going over it as if he'd done it 1000 times! It was so unbelievable, and truly inspiring!
The funniest thing about it was that while he showed no fear going over the teeter-totter or any other element out there, he actually WAS afraid of Skipper, the Sea Otter mascot. Oh, the irony!
We will never forget the look of pure rapture and pride on Dillon's face as he rounded the course again and again. And the look of interest as he watched the pros on the half-pipe as they let go of the handlebars and other crazy stuff. GULP!
